NEWS FEB 2007 Le Petit Ménage Belvedere Hill, St. Saviour A coach house and stable in St. Saviour is being restored from a state of near ruin and converted into two houses. Work is now nearing completion on this pioneering project incorporating renewable energy systems to reduce the running costs. The central heating and hot water is heated by a ground source heat pump there is nearly a kilometre of collector pipe laid in an adjoining field. The collector liquid is fed to a heat pump And into under floor heating. This must be one of the best insulated rational buildings in Jersey with 300mm of sheep’s wool insulation. All openings have secondary glazing The rainwater is being collected and filtered and stored to be used to flush toilets and for the washing machines. Low energy light fitting are installed everywhere.
